Home Additions in Bogart, Built Next to the Rooms You Live In

A new bedroom, family room or primary suite built onto your house, with the shell finished and weather-tight before the old wall opens, so most of the mess stays outside.

Most of the Work Happens Outside

An addition is new construction attached to a house you are living in. The good news is that most of it, from footings and framing to the weather-tight shell, happens outdoors while the existing walls stay closed.

The messy moment is the tie-in, when the old exterior wall is opened. We save it for late in the job, seal the rooms around the opening and clean daily until the new space is finished.

What the Addition Includes

  • Foundation and structure

Footings, a slab or crawlspace, and framing built so the new floor meets the existing floor at the same height, with no step between rooms.

  • Joining old and new

The connecting wall opened late in the job, outside materials and trim matched to the house, and heating and cooling carried into the new rooms.

  • Finished interior

Insulation, drywall, trim and paint, plus the wiring and supply lines a new bathroom, closet or living space needs to be fully usable.

How an Addition Takes Shape

  1. Check the lot

Before pricing, we confirm what the lot allows: distance from property lines, any easements in the way and limits on height or size.

  2. Build the shell outside

The foundation, the frame and the outer walls are completed and weathered in while your house stays closed, so daily life inside carries on mostly as normal.

  3. Open, connect, finish

The old wall opens, the rooms nearby are sealed off and protected, and the interior is finished and cleaned before the barriers come down.

Home Addition Questions

What is a realistic timeline for an addition?

Expect months rather than weeks. Footings, framing, inspections and interior finishes run in order, and the schedule you receive lays out when each stage should wrap up.

How disruptive is the tie-in?

It is the noisiest, dustiest stretch, but usually a brief one. We seal the rooms near the opening, cover the floors and clean up every day until the new space is closed in and finished.
